Guardian Construction Co., Inc. is a woman-owned general contracting firm located in Wilmington, Delaware, which started business in 1976 under the direction of Nona J. Cunane. Through diversification brought about by the demands of the marketplace, Guardian has grown significantly each year since its inception serving state, federal, city and private corporate accounts. Guardian concentrates its marketing efforts in business areas where it has established a highly trusted reputation and solid marketing presence:

A Construction Division, which performs general site development and heavy highway construction, grading, land clearing, boring, drainage, concrete and bituminous work. Guardian has the skilled labor, equipment, operators, and project managers for heavy foundations and other industrial construction, as well as specialized management for formed concrete work. Guardian's Construction Division also performs railroad maintenance work, such as clean-up of right of way and derailments.

A Utility Division, experienced in projects including gas main installations and pipe fusing, water and sewer lines, service renewal, electrical cable placement from 1 mil cable to primary, secondary and street lights, as well as the placement of transformers, cable television installation, and placement of trunk and service wires, catch basins and meter pits. Our crews are specialized in installing telephone cable underground, services, laying conduit, placing manholes, as well as splicing telephone cable and service to the house, fiber optic placement, and termination of all cables. We also have a CCTV Mobile Inspection Unit that can go where dedicated vehicle systems cannot and may be partnered with our Vac-Con Vacuum Truck for underground infrastructure inspection, maintenance, repairs and emergencies. Guardian's Utility Division combines professional management, experienced labor, and efficient equipment to match the scope, schedule, and value of each project and the requirements of each customer.
